Say no to keystone. join US!

Stand up for Climate Justice GPDE members, Join the Keystone XL Delaware March + Rally on April 4th.

Last week, there were 2 horrible accidents involving tar sands–a train derailment in Minnesota and a burst pipeline in Arkansas. Both of our Senators–Coons and Carper–voted to support Keystone XL, a pipeline that would transport an additional 800,000 barrels a day of the same tar sands oil that caused both of these toxic accidents to Texas for processing and export. These spills (and there will be more) don’t even take into account the carbon bomb we are unleashing on our atmosphere by extracting, processing and utilizing the dirtiest of the dirty oil on the planet.
It’s time for GPDE members to stand up for climate justice and join the members of the Sierra Club of Delaware,, Occupy Delaware, Fossil Free UD, Young Peacemakers, Wilmington in Transition and more for the Keystone XL Delaware March & Rally on Thursday, April 4th at 4pm. We will start at 4pm with a rally outside of Coons’ office and march the half mile down to Carper’s office and let them know our displeasure.

By the way, it’s important to note that both Senators are heavily financed by BIG OIL. According to data from, during the 2011-2012 session Senator Carper received over $90,000 from Big Oil contributors, while Senator Coons received over $30,000. This is a clear case of a conflict of interest and an impediment to the democratic process.

Join in and bring your signs and your voices! We must draw a line in the tar sands!

Meet outside Senator Coons’ Wilmington office, 1105 N. Market St, Wilmington, DE.

Thursday, April 4th from 4:00pm – 5:30pm
