WE ARE IN A POSITION TO MAKE HISTORY THIS TUESDAY: Thanks to the incredible efforts of so many of you out there, our campaign has serious momentum that could very well bring a WIN in the special election this Tuesday, May 21st. This would send a real message to Harrisburg and the nation that people are fed up with members of the tired old parties achieving nothing but their own reelection.
That's right... You could soon see a 3rd party candidate in the PA State House of Representatives advocating for YOUR interests instead of special interests! Who could have imagined this just three or four months ago? This is why the *****national Green Party is calling this race one of the TOP 5 TO WATCH IN THE NATION.***** Remember: This is a special election so any registered voter can vote for any candidate from any party.
I am eager to have the opportunity to advocate for real reform for the people of the 95th District and Pennsylvania. We need to stop talking about property tax reform and start ACHIEVING it. There is no reason seniors and others should be losing their homes due to out of control property taxes. It's time we shift some more incentives AWAY FROM large corporations and TO small businesses which create 85% of all jobs. It's time to start investing in quality public education for our district's kids rather than wasting $ on building prisons to lock them up when they grow older. It's time we pass legislation that would allow the State Auditor General, Eugene DePasquale , to AUDIT the State Legislature. It's time we close the Delaware loophole so that PA's large corporations pay their taxes. (If these huge companies would pay what they owe, our state's corporate tax rate could become one of the lowest in the nation, attracting new businesses to PA).
It's also time we reform healthcare and lead the nation right here in Pennsylvania by passing Senate Bill 400. This bill improves the quality of care, covers all Pennsylvanians, keeps actual healthcare private, adds jobs and saves serious $ for taxpayers and businesses by gathering Pennsylvanians into one powerful pool (see detail on my website). It's time we improve our air quality and require labeling on genetically modified foods (something almost all Americans support).
In short, it's time for our political leaders to get to work and PRODUCE REAL RESULTS for the people of PA.
I am ready for action and will work tirelessly on your behalf.
Please mark your calendar now to get out and vote on May 21st. I encourage you to share this message with friends and family and remind them that, because this is a special election, any registered voter can vote for any candidate.
Thanks for all of your support. With your vote, we're about to make history and send a message that will be heard in Harrisburg and around the nation. Let's win this!By: Bill Swartz

May 19, 2013 at 5:00 pm Occupy Fights Foreclosures states that it has been able to help many owners keep their homes, often through direct negotiations with banks. Their tougher cases have led to protests where members break into homes, return them to their owners and barricade the houses off from mortgage servicing companies and law enforcement. One such protest in Van Nuys lasted over two months last year before being shut down. Occupiers are still defending a home in East Los Angeles. That protest is in its sixth month. Another such protest, in Altadena, began last month.

May 19, 2013 at 4:42 pm Even better, cancel all student debt. Just Cancel It!!
Tell Senators Tom Carper and Christopher Coons to stand with Elizabeth Warren
Over 425,000 Americans signed the petition supporting Elizabeth Warren’s first bill -- giving students the same break as the big banks.
This week, Elizabeth Warren thanked her grassroots supporters, saying "as people like you stand with me in this fight, Washington takes notice -- and for that, I can't thank you enough."
Let's make sure Washington takes notice. Can you call Senators Tom Carper and Christopher Coons and ask them to support Warren's bill? Click here for the number and a script.
It's outrageous that big banks get a 0.75% interest rate while student loan interest rates are set to jump from 3.4% to 6.8% this summer.
The big banks have armies of lobbyists and lawyers, but the students have us. Let’s keep up the momentum!
Call your Senators Tom Carper and Christopher Coons now -- ask them to stand with the thousands of Americans who think students deserve the same breaks as the big banks.

Diana Wise Oh wait, let me clarify, I hate that the government is cutting the budget on education and other socially necessary programs, but the FDA specifically has created laws making it harder for smaller production to thrive and therefore has increased people's dependence on factory farmed and processed foods.

May 18, 2013 at 3:34 pm KOCH DEALERS: COMING SOON TO A COMMUNITY NEAR YOU!
“For those that thought they were immune from the oil sands and the consequences of them, we’re now seeing up front and center that we’re not.”
A Black Mound of Canadian Oil Waste Is Rising Over Detroit
"It’s really the dirtiest residue from the dirtiest oil on earth.”
And no one knows quite what to do about it, except Koch Carbon, which owns it.
Koch sells the high-sulfur, high-carbon waste, usually overseas, where it is burned as fuel.
“What is really, really disturbing to me is how some companies treat the city of Detroit as a dumping ground.”
An initial refining process known as coking, which releases the oil from the tarlike bitumen in the oil sands, also leaves the petroleum coke, of which Canada has 79.8 million tons stockpiled. Some is dumped in open-pit oil sands mines and tailing ponds in Alberta. Much is just piled up there.
Detroit’s pile will not be the only one. Canada’s efforts to sell more products derived from oil sands to the United States, which include transporting it through the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, have pulled more coking south to American refineries, creating more waste product here.
BP, the British energy company, is building what it describes as the second-largest coke refinery in Whiting, Ind. When completed, the unit will be able to process about 102,000 barrels of bitumen or other heavy oils a day.
In China, it is used to generate electricity, adding to that country’s air-quality problems. There is also strong demand from India and Latin America for American petroleum coke, where it mainly fuels cement-making kilns.
One of the world’s largest dealers of petroleum coke is the Oxbow Corporation, which sells about 11 million tons of fuel-grade coke a year. It is owned by William I. Koch, a brother of David and Charles.

Mountain of Petroleum Coke From Oil Sands Rises in Detroit
Refining Canada’s petroleum-soaked oil sands produces petroleum coke, and the question of what to do with it has found at least one answer in Detroit, where a large coke pile covers an entire city block.
John Carter Here in Wichita where Koch Industries roosts, we keep hearing how the Kochs have no investment in the XL Pipeline, how totally disinterested they are ... which is why they were the logical choice to contribute to the government finding on the pipeline. Right.
May 18, 2013 at 3:39 pm
GreenParty Delaware The best thing that can be said about the Koch brothers is that they are so blatantly evil. The worst thing that can be said about humanity is that we never seem to deal with blatant evil very well.
May 18, 2013 at 3:46 pm
John Carter I fully expect to find out that it will be a Koch company that ships the oil to foreign ports as well. Used to be Koch Refining and Chemical that did that work but the company names shift around ... got to keep the corporate veil shifting for liability reasons.
